Vegan feeding - it is possible for a clumsy cook!

What is the name or your vegetarian blog?

Vegan Feeding

What is your blog's URL?

What is your blog about?

I'm a newborn vegan (about a month old, to be exact) and a clumsy cook. After learning about common meat production and farming practices, I knew I wanted to embark on a cruelty-free diet but one primary concern was WHAT WOULD I EAT?! I thought for sure that I'd be relegated to sad salads and dry cereals. To my surprise, I've been eating just fine - in fact, better than ever before in my life. And to my greater shock, most of this food has been coming out of my own kitchen. My blog chronicles the journeys, cravings, occasional snafus, and successful recipes that have sustained me from day 1 as a vegan.

Why do you keep a vegetarian or vegan food blog?

It's personally gratifying to keep a journal of any major life change, if only for the opportunity to look back someday and to see how far I've come. But being vegan isn't about keeping this change to myself. More than anything else, I'd love for people to see that being vegan IS possible, it IS healthful, it IS affordable, and if I can do it, anyone can do it. Yes, I hope that like-minded vegan readers will visit and try out the recipes, but I'd especially love for members of my non-vegan audience to see that veganism is a beautiful and compassionate change that anyone can start in their life in some small way, every day.

Advice

  • Think of yourself as a business with a positive message. Put yourself out there in a positive way, put your food out there with bright lights and flashing neon (read: take lots of pictures of your food). If you can make them salivate by the time they read through your newest entry, you're practically done.
