Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce with Sesame Oil

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, diced
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • juice from 2 limes
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Preparation:

In a small saucepan over very low heat, whisk together all ingredients until well combined.

Great Peanut Sauce, Guest

I really liked this recipe. I did not have limes, so I used the juice of one lemon. A small one. I think anymore would have been too much. I used Tamari and Braggs Liquid Aminos instead of shoyu. It was really good! I also put in some crushed red Thai chile peppers. Added a little more heat and depth. I did end up blotting some of the oil of the top after I let it stand for a few minutes. All in all this was a very tasty peanut sauce recipe! I used it in a tofu stirfy and I have quite a bit left over!
