Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup pearl onions
- 2 pounds mushrooms, any kind
- 3/4 cup cream
- 1 cup fresh Parmesan, grated
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- pepper, to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 350F.In a large skillet, sautee the onions in half the butter or margarine for three to five minutes, until just barely soft. Set aside.
Over medium-low heat, cook the mushrooms in the remaining butter or margarine for just a few minutes.
Combine the onions, mushrooms and remaining ingredients, except breadcrumbs, and gently toss to combine.
Place the mixture in a casserole dish, and sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese and salt and pepper if desired.
