For a vegan, we really love spinach dip. Probably a little too much. But then again, we love just about any way to eat more greens, and we love the convenience of using frozen chopped spinach in just about any way.

In this simple and easy vegan spinach dip recipe, you use a vegan packaged soup mix, frozen spinach, and a non-dairy sour cream and just mix it all up together. It really couldn't possibly be easier or more foolproof.

Once you've prepared your spinach dip, we recommend letting it sit in the fridge for at least fifteen minutes, then, take it out, give it a little stir and then give it a taste. We sometimes like to add a bit of seasoned salt, or extra onion powder or garlic powder, or even a touch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. And, if you want to get fancy, or you're serving this for a party, you can also serve your spinach dip in a bread bowl! Vegan spinach dip is a quick and easy vegan appetizer recipe, and we're also a fan of vegetarian mini-meatballs as a fun and easy appetizer (not that there's anything wrong with the usual chips and guac or hummus!).

Ingredients

  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen spinach, chopped, thawed, and drained

  • 2 tablespoons vegan sour cream

  • 1/2 cup vegan mayonnaise

  • 1 packet onion soup mix

Steps to Make It

  2. Combine the thawed and drained spinach, the vegan sour cream, the vegan mayonnaise, and the vegan onion soup mix together in a large bowl until thoroughly mixed and the onion soup mix is fully incorporated (use a rubber spatula and scrape down the sides of the bowl).

  3. Allow the flavors to marinate and fully develop before serving by placing the bowl, covered, in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes and up to overnight. You may want to give it a quick mix and a taste before transferring to a serving bowl, just in case you'd like to add a little bit of extra salt, or garlic salt or even a dash of hot sauce, if you'd like. Serve with an assortment of crackers, pita chips or fresh sliced veggies. We like fresh and crunchy cucumber slices and jicama for a spinach dip.
