Vegan Tofu Sour Cream Recipe

If you'd like to try making a homemade vegan sour cream, here's an easy non-dairy vegan sour cream recipe to try. It's an easy recipe, though this homemade non-dairy sour cream is admittedly not quite the same as a dairy-based sour cream. Vegan sour cream is much lower in fat than regular sour cream, and is also cholesterol free.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 pound soft (silken) tofu, patted dry
  • 1/4 pound firm tofu, patted dry
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp soy sauce

Preparation:

Put all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.

Maybe I've just been ruined by yummy store bought versions, but I was really disappointed in this. It was super bland, even when I increased the soy sauce and lemon juice in an attempt to save it. I definitely don't feel like it added anything to my meal. Thanks for the recipe anyway. It was worth a try!
