Spicy Jalapeno Hummus Recipe

Looking for a spicy hummus recipe? It doesn't get much spicier than fresh jalapeno peppers! If you like spicy foods and spicy hummus, this vegetarian and vegan jalapeno pepper hummus recipe won't disappoint.

Ingredients:

  • 2 14 ounce cans chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 4 fresh jalapeno peppers, deseeded
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro

Preparation:

Process all ingredients except cilantro in a food processor or blender until smooth, adding more or less liquid as needed in order to get the proper consistency. Hummus should be smooth and creamy.

Stir in cilantro and serve.

This recipe was a good starting point, but the tast of jalapeno was non existent. I put a couple more jalapenos in and it threw in a nice kick. I also added some sesame oil which i feel, was the icing on the cake. The fresh cilantro was DE LISH US in the end, don't be shy with it.
