Basic Spring Roll Dipping Sauce (Vegan)

Spring rolls with basic dipping sauce

This basic dipping sauce is quick to make and perfect to serve with egg rolls, spring rolls, or to use as a sauce for stir-fries.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1tsp corn starch
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced and crushed
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in small saucepan and simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring, until sugar dissolves and corn starch is well mixed. Cool before serving.

Too sweet, Guest Lynne

This recipe was way too sweet for me. I tried to tone it down by adding a couple more tablespoons of rice vinegar, but it wasn't until I added another half cup of water that it was tolerable. I'll try it again, but next time I'll omit the sugar entirely.
