An orange creamsicle style Popsicle is exactly the kind of thing someone on a raw food diet could find themselves nostalgic for. This raw food version of an old classic flavor hits the spot! If you have a high-powered blender you can use raw cashews or macadamia nuts in place of the nut butter. These popsicles are great for healthy vegans and vegan kids too. Enjoy your journey back in time!

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Freeze Time: 4 hours

Total Time: 4 hours, 20 minutes

Yield: 4 to 8 Popsicles

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 cup raw almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons raw cashew or macadamia nut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation:

Simply blend your ingredients together in a blender and pour the mixture into Popsicle trays. (If you are substituting raw nuts, start with minimal liquid to ensure the nuts blend properly. Then add the rest.) Freeze for 3 to 4 hours or until the pop is frozen solid. Defrost for about 5 minutes before trying to remove the Popsicle from the tray or you run the risk of pulling the stick out. You can also try running the tray (upside-down) under warm water to melt the outsides and loosen them up, making them easy to remove.
