Blueberry and spinach superfood green smoothie

Blueberry spinach green smoothie - a raw vegan recipe

A superfood green smoothie recipe made with blueberries for a powerful eye-opening anti-oxidant boost. A raw vegan superfood meal in a green smoothie package.

  • 1 banana
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup liquid (see note below)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach


*Note: If you're eating a raw food diet, use water or another raw liquid, such as cashew milk or fresh squeezed juice that you have on hand. If you're not concerned about eating raw, try apple juice or orange juice in this green smoothie recipe.

Blend together the banana, ice cubes, blueberries and liquid until smooth. Add spinach and blend again until completely smooth and creamy. No sweetener is needed in this recipe, as the blueberries carry the flavor, but if you find it a bit too bland, try adding a touch of agave nectar to give it a bit more zing.

Tasty, Guest fenirall

Although mine ended up being brown rather than green, this smoothie turned out well. I used cashew milk and the consistency and flavor of the end product were pleasant and refreshing without the need of sweeteners. My only real complaint is that the banana tended to overpower the other flavors, so I think I will scale it back a bit next time.
