Vegetarian French Bread Pizza with Vegetables

Using French bread instead of a pizza crust, you can get this healthy vegetarian pizza recipe in the oven quickly. Everyone loves pizza, and piling your pizza high with vegetables means you can enjoy a healthy pizza anytime. French bread vegetable pizza recipe courtesy the Wheat Foods Council.

Ingredients:

  • 1 one pound loaf French bread
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 4 ounce can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 16 ounce can artichoke hearts, drained
  • 1/2 large green pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 large red or yellow pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 2 ounce can sliced black olives, drained
  • black pepper to taste

Preparation:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Slice loaf in half, length-wise, and spread each half with equal amounts of ingredients. Sprinkle lightly with black pepper.

Bake for 7 to 10 minutes, or until cheese melts. Slice each half into fourths.
