Tofu Oat Veggie Burgers

These simple tofu and oat veggie burgers are quick to whip up and are naturally low in fat. This tofu burger recipe is both vegetarian and vegan. Scroll down for more veggie burger recipes to try.

Ingredients:

  • 1 container firm or extra firm tofu, pressed
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 2 tbsp instant potato flakes
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • oil for frying

my nephew was reading the recipe for me while I prepared it and he forgot one ""small"" detail...to press the tofu. Then I added some chopped onion, didn't have potato flakes so I just added some boiled potatoes and more Braggs than it called for. Found them to be ""yummy"". I also put them on the grill and fried them, both were very good. I really think they would be good in a nice sprouted tortilla, with lettuce and salsa..I think I will try that tomorrow with the left over!!
