Ingredients:
- 1 cup apple juice
- 2 tbsp onion powder
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 jalapeno, minced
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated or minced
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp thyme
- 1 package tempeh, steamed
- 5 scallions (green onions), sliced
Preparation:
Whisk or blend together all the ingredients excpet tempeh and scallions thoroughly.Slice the tempeh into 2 x 1 inch strips and place in a baking pan. Pour the spice mixture over the tempeh and coat thoroughly. Allow to marinate overnight.
Heat oven to a broil, or to the highest temperature.
Cook for 4 to 6 minutes, turn, then cook for another 4 to 6 minutes. Top with scallions before serving.
