These rosemary cheese biscuits are a very versatile dinner staple. They can be made with real milk and cheese, or, use soymilk and a vegan cheese substitute to make them vegan. With a flavorful bouquet of herbs, including rosemary, basil and sage, these biscuits will fill your kitchen with a wonderful smell while baking, and are a welcome addition to any Thanksgiving feast.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1 cup milk or soy milk
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (or dairy-free vegan cheese)
- 1 Tbsp dried rosemary
- 1 Tbsp dried basil
- 1 Tbsp sage
- 1 Tbsp rubbed thyme
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix by hand. Drop by tablespoonful onto a greased baking sheet. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes one dozen herbed biscuits.
