This colorful salad, inspired by the flavors of Asia, is a great recipe for raw food beginners to start with, because the ingredients are mostly familiar and easy to find, it doesn't require any special equipment, and of course, it's super tasty! This salad reminds me a bit of a Chinese ramen noodle and cabbage salad, only of course there's no ramen noodles, but go ahead and add some raw shredded cabbage, if you'd like!
It really is easy to make a raw nut milk, even if it seems a bit daunting, and, if you pre-soak the nuts first, then you don't really need to strain the milk. You can also use this method to make almond milk or other nut milks; just make sure the nuts you use are truly raw, not roasted, oiled or salted. You can drink this cashew nut milk plain, use it in other recipes, or spice it up with a bit of cinnamon or raw carob and sweetener, such as agave nectar, for a raw food treat.
This is one of those raw food recipes where the whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts. Just trust me, and try this easy Thai-inspired salad. A reveiwer wrote of this recipe, "I found this recipe and I was a little skeptical. I tried it and I must say wow so tasty." A simple and easy yet satisfying raw recipe perfect for a raw food potluck.
These lettuce wraps have a hint of Mexican spiciness to them, hence the "burrito" simile. You'll want to make lots of wraps, as they don't really last very long - they're that good! Instead of lettuce. you could also try wrapping these raw food "burritos" in nori seaweed or cabbage.
A rich, creamy cashew-based raw food alfredo sauce recipe that is completely raw vegan and suitable for anyone on a raw food diet. You won't believe how delicious and healthy this raw alfredo sauce is. Use it to top your favorite raw salad or raw food meal, or, mandolin some veggies for "noodles" and enjoy a raw fettucine alfredo!
You won't believe how yummy (and easy!) these raw vegan cookies are! Made with just three ingredients, these are a real treat. Even if you don't follow a raw food diet, if you're just looking for a healthy cookie or carob snack, you'll love these little cookies. This is an easy recipe you'll make over and over and over again.
10. Raw Vegan Pesto
Pesto is easy to adapt to a raw food diet! Use fresh basil, a cold pressed oil (I like virgin coconut oil and cold pressed flax oil), and nutritional yeast instead of cheese. You can add extra oil or a bit of water for a thinner sauce, or more nuts for a thicker pesto. Although the crackers pictured aren't raw, scroll down for a raw flaxseed cracker recipe to dip into your pesto, or use it as a veggie dip. This easy raw food and vegan pesto has received five out of five stars in user reviews.
