I often use this space to let you know about some new recipes I've uploaded to the About.com site, but this week, I thought I'd share with you some of the oldest recipes! Enjoy!
  • My favorite vegan chili cheese dip Back when I used to work for animal advocacy organizations, I'd go to a lot of parties, dinners and movie nights with lots of vegans. Seems like at just about every single gathering, someone would bring a variation of this recipe. And with good reason. It's fantastic. If you don't make a double-batch, you'll probably wish you had.
  • Homey barley and seitan pilaf As a food writer and globe-trotter, I've had the opportunity to experience so many amazing flavors, cuisines and new foods (here's 100 of them!). One food I've always loved, however, is barley. This simple pilaf with seitan may not look like much, but I love the homey chewy barley paired with stick-to-your-ribs seitan and popping with nuts and fresh herbs.
  • Vegetarian jambalaya! This was one of the very first recipes I posted when I started with About.com back in 2006. (You'll be able to tell by the awful picture!) If you try this recipe, take a pic and send it to me! This is a great make-ahead recipe, so clear out some plastic containers and make space in your freezer for leftovers!
