Well, I'm not usually one to toot my own horn, but since the Fourth of July is rapidly approaching, I suppose I should probably share with everyone about my new vegetarian barbecue book Cookouts, Veggie Style! It was incredibly fun (and tasty!) to experiment with just about everything you can imagine over the coals.
I grilled up lots of polenta, quesadillas, seitan, tofu, and every veggie under the sun from Jerusalem artichokes to asparagus and plenty of fruits too (grilled mango....yum!). There's an entire chapter devoted to desserts on the grill, including plenty of chocolate treats.

My friend Sangeeta took some absolutely beautiful color photos, and I had plenty of help tasting everything, too! Teresa from Thefriendlyveg.com and Lynn from Nature's Cakes tried a few recipes and loved them, and the book's also got some good press already from the blogosphere! Katydid and Kid loved the variety -there's more than 200 recipes included, and it even got a mention in the Detroit Free Press.

I’m excited about trying the recipes in this cookbook this summer.
Thanks! I had sooo much fun making them (and eating them!).
