New Years Resolutions?

Wednesday December 31, 2008
I decided to become a vegan in the month of August, and I can't remember when I decided to be a vegetarian, as it was nearly twenty years ago, but many people decide to make dietary and lifestyle changes on the first of the new year. Yes, I'm talking about New Years resolutions! Have you made any resolutions related to vegetarianism or perhaps just eating healthier? Including just a few meatless meals each week can make a huge difference in your health and the health of the planet. Have fun with your resolutions and get creative! Try one new vegetarian food or vegetarian restaurant each week, make a pact with a friend to cook a meatless dinner every Sunday or make a bet to see who can stay vegetarian the longest, starting on New Years Day!

Have you made any resolutions this year? Leave a comment and share!

I became vegetarian in August too, two years ago and one my resolution this 2009 is to make the transition to a 100% vegan diet. At this moment I’m experimenting with egg replacers and the results are quite promising :D

I became a vegetarian on New Years Day 1997, so I have been veg for 12 years now. I’ve thought about veganism off and on the whole time, but since my husband is omnivorous it’s easier to satisfy us both if I stay lacto-ovo vegetarian.

I made a resolution to only date vegans. I’m sick of meat eaters.

That’s so awesome you became vegan in Aug.! I was a veg is 95 and then became vegan in 2002 after I realized it didn’t make sense for me to eat eggs, dairy and honey. All animal by products cause torture and death for animals like meat. It’s all the same.

My resolution is to work out more.

Dawn, you sound just like me! I had no idea of the suffering involved in egg and dairy production, but when I found out - I went vegan right away. Ok, well, it took me a month or two to make the transition. Its not really a resolution, but my goal is to eat more GREENS!!! And work out more!

My resolution this year was to go vegetarian for one month and see how I feel and if I wan to continue at the end of January. So far it’s going really well. :-)
