Where to Buy Tofurky (or win a free one!)

Monday November 17, 2008
Its not a bird, it's not a plane...it's Tofurky! But where to find one of these mysterious boxed creatures?

When it comes to Thanksgiving Tofurky, you have two choices: Tofurky Feast (pictured above left) and Tofurky Roast (pictured below right). Tofurky Feast is basically a complete vegetarian Thanksgiving in a box. It comes with the roast itself as well as cranberry and potato dumplings, vegetarian stuffing and gravy, even a mock wishbone! Tofurky Roast comes with just the roast. You can also buy Tofurky's vegetarian stuffing and gravy separately.

The good folks over at GoVeg.com are giving away five free Tofurkys this year in time for Thanksgiving (you have until the 19th to enter), but just in case you don't win, here's where to buy your Tofurky this Thanksgiving.

If you don't feel like cooking a whole Tofurky this year, here's a quick tip: pick up some Tofurky turkey deli slices to smother in piles of mashed potatoes and gravy. I like all the flavors, but the cranberry and stuffing flavored slices are perfect for Thanksgiving, of course.

I rather like Tofurkey, though I liked their old version of the “Vegetarian Feast” pack, with the seitan drumsticks instead of the dumplings. The dumplings never seem to turn out right.

I live in a crappy small city in Canada that doesn’t have many options. I just have Yves vegan turkey slices. They do taste really good.
