Prop 2: Vegetarian issue on the ballot in California
Arizona did it in 2006. Florida did it in 2002. Twenty-seven countries in Europe have done it. Now, it's California's turn to take a step towards the humane treatment of farm animals by voting in support of Proposition 2, also known as the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act. Prop 2 will increase the amount of space required for confined animals used for food. Dozens of animal advocacy organizations, family farms, consumer protection groups and environmental groups such as the Sierra Club have come together in support of this Prop 2, which benefits not just those who care about animals, but also those who care about clean water, small businesses and food safety. So, whether you're vegetarian or not, if you live in California, take the time to vote yes on Prop 2. Oh, and Ellen says to vote "Yes" on Prop 2 as well.
