Ecorazzi: Ellen DeGeneres goes vegan!
I'm not usually one for celebrity gossip, but I've just discovered a fabulous new gossip blog that I just can't resist sharing! It's called Ecorazzi, and it's celeb news with an eco-friendly and animal-friendly twist. Ecorazzi gives credit to celebrities who are taking positive steps for animals and the environment, and calls out those who aren't! Recently, I was quite surprised to learn from Ecorazzi that one of America's favorite comedians, Ellen DeGeneres, has gone vegan! It wasn't too long ago that the vegetarian world discovered that Grey's Anatamy star Sandra Oh is apparently a secret vegan. Hopefully both Sandra and Ellen will stick with it longer than Oprah's vegan experiment. What does this have to do with you and what's for dinner tonight? Not much, really, but isn't it still fun to know? I'll try to resist sharing with you all each time one of my favorite celebrities goes vegetarian or vegan (you can see some of my favorite vegetarian celebrities here), but, well, with so much fun, juicy gossip and good news coming from the folks at Ecorazzi, I'm not making any promises.

I’m THRILLED to hear that Ellen has gone vegan, although I guess I need to do a little more reading up on how this came about. I seem to recall that she USED to be vegetarian, but had resumed eating dead animals.
So the news that she’s now vegan is quite a surprise…a very NICE surprise.
Awesome.
The more people who are ‘famous’ and become vegan, the more it makes its way into the mainstream. Way to go Ellen.

Congratulation to Ellen for her enlightenment to the unspeakerble sufferring of the criminal robbery of animal lives by man. This act is akin to the criminal snatching of black Africans from their home land and shipped abroad to be used as slaves for life, but only much worse with animals. Most people go vegan for as long as their new mobile phone is due for replacement. So I hope Ellen would have more determination than that. Let’s wait and see, and I support her all the way. Only advanced, free thinking and highly compassionate people could have decided to go vegan on their own !
Like a lotus emerged from dirty mud yet smell of subtle fragrance. Ellen is among another advance being hearing the cries of all sentient beings in pain.
Hope one day in some future times when it is a crime to exploit animals for their flesh and organs. That would be the day when the word “humane” finally has a real meaning. Thanks Ellen, for contributing to this reality.
