Do vegetarians smell better?

More strange (but good!) news from the world of science. Anthropologists in the Czech Republic decided to study the effects of diet on body odor. More specifically, they wanted to find out if women prefer the body odor of men fed a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian diet. Well, you can probably guess what happened. Apparently, women judged the body odor of men fed a vegetarian diet to be "significantly more attractive, more pleasant, and less intense". Strange, but true. What do you think? Has anyone noticed this to be true?

Yes, it is true. My husband even noticed that he doesn’t have smelly armpits, anymore, since becoming vegan.

I agree! But only if you eat healthy!

My girlfriend constantly sniffs me while hugging and tells me how nice I smell – I have been vegan for 15 years – coincidence?

What about people who ingest a lot of garlic or onions?!

People who eat large amounts of meat have a distinct odor, but I’m not sure you could say that about the “average meat-eater.”

I haven’t actually noticed garlic or onions affecting the way I smell.

Yes, this is already known to many who are vegans and pay attention to their body. I have even been told that my semen tastes good by my girlfriend. You have to avoid spicy, alcohol, and pineapple can make it sweet. You can find similar anecdotals by searching online.
Good living to all!

Exciting news!:) I’ve always suspected something like that. Translated the article for Russian readers:)

Can animals ’smell’ whether you’re vegetarian or not?

I’ve actually noticed the opposite. One of my closest male friends is a vegetarian and he could be quite attractive if he didn’t always smell kind of odd… Like onions and public toilets. He’s a lovely person, though. My friend also had some complaints from friends about her odour while she was on a fad veggie detox.

I just recently became a vegitarian and I have noticed my natural body ordor has changed quite a bit since starting this new way of eating.

In my opinion if I had to guess just common sense would make me think that your body uses your skin (as its your largest organ in your body) to expel toxins that have built up in your body. Having been a meat eater since I started eating regular food as a baby and now no longer eating it, my body is getting rid of all the bad toxins from drinking and just plain eating bad for my whole life. I dont notice it all the time, but when I sweat it has a very distinct smell which isnt quite pleasant at the moment. I dont even wanna describe what it smells like LOL but, its not socially acceptable to be out in public smelling like that! But, I dont think I have been a vegitarian long enough to know if vegiatrians smell differently over meat eaters.
