World Vegetarian Congress in India
The Congress offers six days of educational sessions with experts in the field, concludes each night with entertainment by traditional folk artists, and is truly global in perspective and scope. You can learn about the history of vegetarianism in Iran or the role of a vegetarian diet in Buddhism, and of course, attend cooking demonstrations and much, much more.
According to an organizer with the International Vegetarian Union, India, having a cultural history of vegetarianism is in a unique position as the host of the World Congress. While vegetarian proponents of most Western countries concern themselves with convincing non-vegetarians to consider moving towards a plant-based diet, vegetarian advocates in India focus on helping those who are already vegetarian stay that way.

Following activities have been done in 2 months ago in Mazandaran Province of Iran:
1- Meat less day ceremony in 25 November 2006 in Sari city
2- Establish of sub- branch of Iranian Vegetarian Union in 10 Universities.
3- Local meetings in 5 Universities (Islamic Azad University of Sari, Of Jouybar, Of Qaemshahr , Of Savadkouh, of Babol , PNU university of Sari )
4- Preparation for publication of newsletter as weekly (first issue until 10 days latter).
5- Preparation of catalogues for Iranian vegetarian union and membership form in Persian and English and membership ID cart.
6- Preparation of short clips for introduction of Iranian vegetarian union (IVU).
